Springfield, MO, is searching for a Belt Test Technician.Position
Summary:The purpose of this job is to test belts. Essential Job
Duties:
- Assists Development Application and Material Engineering groups
by providing belt performance data through a process of installing
prototype, sample or production belts on test equipment and
accurately measuring and recording such data as belt tension, size,
temperature, time to failure, etc, as well as providing a failure
analysis when problems occur.
- Maintains test instructions, parameters and test data obtained
on PC database.
- Calibrates and maintains calibration records for all test
equipment. Technical/Functional Skills:
- Must have knowledge of belt components, an ability to set up
and install belts on test machines according to specifications, an
ability to accurately read measuring instruments and document
results.
- Should have ability to read blueprints and must posses a wide
range of mechanical skills.
- Computer skills are also essential to maintain records.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Data handling/managing Language Skills: Ability to read and
interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine
reports and complete necessary production forms. Ability to speak
effectively with fellow employees and/or customers. Mathematical
Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units
of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, rate, percentages,
ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several variables; problem
solving ability.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of
this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and
use hands/arms. The employee is regularly required to talk, hear at
conversational level, and smell. The employee is occasionally
required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently
lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 50
pounds. Moving/lifting greater than 50 pounds requires assistance
from another employee or a lifting device/hoist. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Work
Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee
is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is
may be frequently exposed to chemicals, hot/cold conditions, or
noisy conditions.Required Personal Protective Equipment: Employee
is required to wear proper safety eyewear and steel-toed shoes at
