The 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician -will lubricate machinery,
change parts, or perform other routine machinery maintenance. -
They are actively involved in preventive maintenance programs to
achieve machine goals.
This is a 2nd shift position with working hours from 3:00pm -
11:30pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- - Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain CNC machinery,
electrical systems, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
- - Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or
maintenance work.
- - Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine
efficiency and to detect problems.
- - Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective
areas or advise supervisors of repair needs.
- - Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines,
machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified
procedures.
- - Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments,
according to production specifications.
- - Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand
tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
- - Record production, repair, and machine maintenance
information.
- - Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and
equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
- - Set up and operate machines, and adjust controls to regulate
operations.
- - Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines,
machine parts, or equipment.
- - Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other
supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished.
- - Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material
between work areas and storage, using cranes, hoists, or
dollies.
- - Collect and discard worn machine parts and other refuse in
order to maintain machinery and work areas.
- - Clean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents,
cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment.
- - Replace or repair metal, wood, leather, glass, or other
lining in machines, or in equipment compartments or containers.
Education Requirements / Certifications
- - High school diploma or equivalent
- - Three (3) years' experience with CNC machine maintenance
preferred
Experience / Skill Requirements - - - - - - - - - -
- - Demonstrated experience in electrical and mechanical
maintenance including motors, controls, power supplies, AC/DC
theory, power distribution, PLC's, hydraulics/pneumatics,
lubrication, power transmission and pumps
- - Demonstrated ability to follow all established safe work
procedures including, but not limited to personal protection
equipment, lockout/tag-out requirements and electrical
safety
- - Read and interpret blueprints, technical parts manuals such
as electrical and mechanical diagrams, and ability to effectively
use and read gages, meters, calipers and other measuring
tools
- - Effective and safe use of all required tools including, but
not limited to, drills, saws, torches, welders, cranes & hoists,
forklifts and other maintenance equipment
- - Ability to work other shifts, weekends and overtime as
needed
Physical Requirements
- - Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger,
handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and
arms
- - Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel,
crouch or crawl
- - Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 35
pounds
- - Occasionally required to work near moving mechanical
parts
- - Occasionally required to work in outside weather conditions
and exposure to moderate cold and heat
- - Frequent exposure to various chemicals, lubricants, and
grease
- - The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
to high
