Position Title: Inventory Control Specialist

Job Type: Full-time, Salary (Exempt)

Department: Supply Chain

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Schedule: Mon-Fri, Days

Summary: The Inventory Control Specialist will maintain the organization's inventory while working closely with the procurement team and warehouse staff to control the flow and maintain accurate records.

    Responsibilities:
    • Maintains consistent stock of inventory, ordering new stock up to pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles.
    • Works with purchasing to ensure we maximize our ability to stock and store just in time inventory.
    • Assists and manages a cycle count program.
    • Ensures all adjustments made through cycle count program have been thoroughly vetted before locking in.
    • Successfully manage a team of material handlers.
    • Establish KPI's around productivity within the material handling group and ensure team is functioning at high productivity levels.
    • Work with finance to issue material ahead of job start to maximize cash flow.
    • Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
    • Provides inventory reports to purchasing and finance.
    • Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made.
    • Manages and maintains inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software under the direction of the purchasing or finance.
    • Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
    • Operates forklift truck when necessary.
    • Performs other related duties as requested.
    • Ability to travel.

      Requirements

      • High school diploma or equivalent required.
      • Experience with computerized inventory systems required.
      • Supervisor experience preferred.
      • Forklift operator certification preferred.
      • Excellent communication skills, developing professional relationships with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors.
      • Proficient understanding of inventory control procedures.
      • Proficient PC skills including Office Suite.
      • Extremely organized, careful attention to detail and able to work with minimum supervision.
      • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
      • Able to sit for prolonged periods at a time.
      • Able to navigate the warehouse while moving and lifting top/lower stocked items up to 40 pounds.
