Position Title: Inventory Control Specialist
Job Type: Full-time, Salary (Exempt)
Department: Supply Chain
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Schedule: Mon-Fri, Days

Summary: The Inventory Control Specialist will maintain the
organization's inventory while working closely with the procurement
team and warehouse staff to control the flow and maintain accurate
records.

Responsibilities:
- Maintains consistent stock of inventory, ordering new stock up
to pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles.
- Works with purchasing to ensure we maximize our ability to
stock and store just in time inventory.
- Assists and manages a cycle count program.
- Ensures all adjustments made through cycle count program have
been thoroughly vetted before locking in.
- Successfully manage a team of material handlers.
- Establish KPI's around productivity within the material
handling group and ensure team is functioning at high productivity
levels.
- Work with finance to issue material ahead of job start to
maximize cash flow.
- Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items
in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
- Provides inventory reports to purchasing and finance.
- Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and
shipments made.
- Manages and maintains inventory system; facilitates upgrades to
related database and/or software under the direction of the
purchasing or finance.
- Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory
audits.
- Operates forklift truck when necessary.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
- Ability to travel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with computerized inventory systems required.
- Supervisor experience preferred.
- Forklift operator certification preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, developing professional
relationships with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and
outside vendors.
- Proficient understanding of inventory control procedures.
- Proficient PC skills including Office Suite.
- Extremely organized, careful attention to detail and able to
work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Able to sit for prolonged periods at a time.
- Able to navigate the warehouse while moving and lifting
top/lower stocked items up to 40 pounds.
