Technician Facilities role is responsible for providing mechanical
and technical troubleshooting support. This role performs
maintenance on facilities equipment to reduce equipment downtime
and meet production schedules. The position performs preventive and
predictive maintenance as required to ensure equipment availability
and assists in facility projects. The Maintenance Technician
Facilities position is also responsible for maintaining the
building with respect to appearance and performs general
maintenance. This position reports to the Facility
Manager.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs preventive maintenance of critical plant equipment on
a regular basis.
- Responsible for repairing building components, utility systems
and mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Works with contractors to meet the needs of the facility.
- Works with internal customers to prioritize work.
- Works with vendors to spec and order parts for facility
equipment.
- Must be familiar with plant SOPs and Corporate specifications
governing the operation of facility equipment, critical systems and
local GMP practices.
- Will provide a moderate level of troubleshooting, diagnostic,
and repair of building systems, equipment and equipment components
which include but not limited to: heating, ventilation and air
conditioning equipment; compressors; pumps, piping, plumbing
components, and facility equipment.
- Requires some familiarity with generally accepted building,
plumbing, piping, electrical, and fire protection practices and
codes.
- Must follow safety rules and ensure compliance with state and
federal EPA regulation and laws.
- Attends required training, meetings, as needed.Job
Requirements:
- High School Diploma is required. 3 - 5 years of mechanical
systems repair is desired.
- Technical Associates degree preferred
- Must have experience with basic hand tools and electrical
meters.
- Must be able to read electrical prints with strong
troubleshooting shills a plus.
- Able to work with limited supervision, have strong
communication skills, both verbally and written, good documentation
skills, strong computer skills, customer oriented, work effectively
under stressful conditions.Physical / Safety Requirements
- Duties may require overtime work, including nights and
weekends
- Use of hands and fingers to manipulate office equipment is
required
- Position requires standing and walking for extended periods of
time
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to carry and climb 10
ft. ladders. Must be able to stand and work at two hour minimum
intervals. Must be able to work in tight spaces. The successful
