Job DescriptionShipping Coordinator---Immediate openingThe hours are 8-4:30 M-F, and the pay is around $16.50/hour, give or take based on experience. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB This position is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and scheduling items for shipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE AREAS • Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner. • Operates hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments. • Routes, unpacks, examines and records incoming shipments, and corresponds with Purchasing to rectify damages and shortages. • Maintaining an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times. • Prepare and print shipping labels and affix to each package in preparation for shipping. • Contact carrier and schedule shipping for each package. • Monitor job log, production log and ship dates for optimal delivery. • Ensure freight cost is aligned with quoted freight for the project. • Acquire shipment insurance from carrier, when needed. • Record date shipped on job packet. • Correspond with Territory Manager to verify all documents are finalized and customer is prepared to receive shipment. • Ensure each project is submitted to the Plant Manager after shipping/customer pickup.
