Our huge assortment of parts and accessories including trailer axles, trailer brakes, trailer hitches, trailer jacks, trailer suspension parts, and trailer tires and wheels makes us the primary supplier of trailer parts and accessories across the United States.The role of the Building and Grounds Maintenance Person is to be responsible for minor repairs and preventative maintenance of building and grounds relating to the Home Office / Central Warehouse complex, DATS, and other Dexter properties. Duties include, but are not limited to,

• perform minor building maintenance / repair such as electrical, plumbing, janitorial, carpentry, and painting as directed; major work to be done by a qualified, licensed professional
• perform monthly preventative maintenance on non-motorized equipment such as warehouse dock plates, powered shrink wrapping machines, ice machines, HVAC equipment, etc.
• responsible for grounds condition and up-keep including mowing, trimming, painting, and minor ground repair
• shovel snow from sidewalks, operate heavy duty snow removal equipment such asa plow truck, spread salt on passageways to prevent ice build up and promote a safe working area for occupants of the properties
• inventory replacement parts and supplies on a scheduled basis to maintain an on hand stock of repetitive use items such as light bulbs, HVAC filters, light ballasts, ice melt, etc.
• responsible for the security of all company tools and equipment in the shop area
• maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop area
• report maintenance needs of all motorized equipment that this position is responsible for to the Central Distribution Manager so that all equipment is kept in optimum operating condition
• assist in development of methods to determine accurate maintenance costs and efficiencies
• be able to operate all warehouse equipment and perform warehouse duties as needed
• follow personal safe work practices on equipment, use all personal protective equipment prescribed, and report all safety issues or injuries to management promptly no matter how minorWe are looking for a candidate that will take our core values to heart and has a strong drive to succeed in our industry.
