Join our Sterile Processing Team for growth and career ladder
The Sterile Process Technician follows a robust series of processes
in instrument decontamination, sanitization and sterilization under
general supervision ensuring all equipment is free of bioburden.
Maintaining a high set of standards and procedures the instrument
technician maintains, tests and assembles equipment in support of
the central sterile processing to support all areas of the
hospital. Our instrument technicians work as a part of a team with
focus being on prioritization of instrumentation to process,
customer service and dispatching inventory to the appropriate areas
in a timely and accurate manner.
The Sterile Processing career ladder allows those to enter this
field and receive on the job training to prepare to move up levels
to achieve national certification and grow into a trainer and
leader in the department and field giving stability and security
for a long term career with Mercy.
Experience: Minimum 12 months experience in Sterile Processing or
800 hours of hands on experience in Sterile Processing.
Required Education: High school graduate or equivalent
Certifications: CRCST or CSPDT Certification through IAHCSMM or
CBSPD. Recommend obtaining additional Sterile Processing
Certifications of CIS, CER &/or CHL.
Other: Completion of PROF062- Preceptor Workshop & PROF358-
Preceptor Workshop Pre-course Curriculum.
Basic computer skills
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must interact with staff and co-workers across a diverse range of
