Job Description : The Crisis Intervention Coordinator (CIC) will provide leadership, direction, support, supervision, and assistance to the 24-hour crisis response line and Volunteer Victim Advocate program. The CIC will provide some direction, support, and assistance to After-Hours Crisis Intervention Specialists. The Crisis Intervention Coordinator will be responsible for all communication with internal and external constituents regarding the 24-hour crisis response line, volunteer program, and the after-hours staff. The CIC will be responsible for all aspects of the crisis response line volunteer program.

Duties and Responsibilities :
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality
Recruit, screen, interview, and evaluate volunteer advocate candidates who respond to after-hours calls to our 24-hour crisis response line
Train, manage, coach, and supervise volunteers
Provide volunteers support, appreciation, and recognition
Coordinate all activities related to the volunteer program, particularly monthly meetings, weekly call schedule, and trainings; include crisis intervention staff in communications about weekly call schedule and pertinent training opportunities.
Work with Education Director and Assistant Director in maintaining quality trainings for volunteer advocates
Assist Program Director in recruiting, screening, and interviewing crisis intervention staff
Assist with training and coaching crisis intervention staff
Empower crisis intervention staff and volunteers with knowledge and support to effectively support and assist callers
Personally be available to crisis intervention staff and volunteers during regular business hours, or provide for availability by another supervisor
Provide oversight into the preparation of reports of service delivery, daily logs, timesheets, and any other reports or client forms that are needed or required by the organization or grant funders
Maintain a high degree of cooperation, communication, and collaboration with agencies and individuals who work with crime victims and/or crisis intervention services (including but not limited to: local, county, and state law enforcement; fire services; emergency medical agencies/hospitals; and answering services)
Actively participate in community meetings, including but not limited to Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), Volunteer Leaders of the Ozarks (VLO), and briefings with law enforcement and agencies providing crisis services
Make necessary reports for concern of health, safety, and well-being of minors and adults over 18 with disabilities and/or persons over the age of 60
Provide staff "on-call" weeks as assigned (typically 1 week per 10 week period)
Participate in daytime in-office crisis response call and walk-in coverage and after-hours, phone-based crisis response call shift rotations as assigned
Report directly to Program Director and perform any and all duties assigned in the operation of the organization
All other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience :
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in social/human services, required
Demonstrated experience and success providing crisis intervention services, required
Minimum of two years full-time work experience supervising employees and/or volunteers, required
Thorough understanding of impacts of trauma, victimology, power and control, crisis intervention, and people/volunteer management
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and email usage required
Experience with online platforms such as Sign-Up Genuis, Zoom, and Jotform, preferred

Other Requirements:
Must have the ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time interchangeably.
Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle or personal transportation is required.
Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds (such as training materials, laptops, and volunteer supplies) is required.
Successfully pass a national criminal background check and a child abuse and neglect investigation check through Family Care Safety Registry and National Crime Search.

Primary Work Location: The Victim Center main office at 815 W. Tampa Ave., Springfield, MO 65802. There may be some occasional work-from-home arrangements, and limited in-person response to crisis calls at locations such as emergency rooms and law enforcement agencies.

Work Hours: - Typical work week aligns with The Victim Center's main office hours of Monday-Thursday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. After-hours call shifts, staff-on-call rotation, volunteer meetings and trainings, and other duties as assigned require evening and weekend hours.

Compensation: Compensation is based on qualifications and experience. Benefits available to full-time staff include health, vision, dental, and life insurance, flexible spending accounts, and paid vacation, personal, holiday, and sick time. Additional flex time is offered to full-time staff who participate in after-hours hotline/crisis response coverage.
