Responsibilities and Qualifications Responsible for maintaining radiation safety standards, calibration of therapeutic equipment, clinical care and other physics related duties of the department. Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Each career at Mercy represents unique members of our caring ministry's "body", working together for the health and strength of the whole. To achieve our goals, we need all the parts functioning at their best and this requires the specific qualifications that you'll bring with you:* Education: Master's degree or above.* Experience: Minimum three years in a comprehensive radiation oncology department.* Certifications: Certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiology required.* Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Knowledge of modern radiation therapy techniques as applied to clinical care, calibration and care of equipment as required by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, all aspects of radiation safety related to radiation therapy. Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: Works in modern hospital environment. At all times necessary to provide for efficient operation of department. Exposed to occupational levels of radiation and other hazardous materials present in hospital environment. Physical demands are attached plus push and pull 30 lbs., and grip up to 40 lbs. plus, pinch up to 15 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All equipment used in the performance of calibration, maintenance, and clinical use in a radiation oncology and radiosurgery department.
