We are a multi-billion-dollar globally diversified company that designs and manufactures various engineered components and products. Our growing automotive business unit, which exceeds one billion dollars in sales, is comprised of four main product segments with operations on three continents. Our customers include OEM and Tier 1 automotive companies.In this role, you will report to the Branch Manager while designing and developing the manufacturing process whilst maintaining a Safety-First approach in all activities. You will optimize the efficiency of manufacturing in the plant while managing the work to stay within the budget. As part of the Branch Management Team, you will have close interactions with most areas to establish efficient processes to meet our customers needs.If you are looking for a challenging, rewarding opportunity to display your expertise, we want you!What will my day-to-day look like?

  • Leading a Safety-First approach maintaining a zero-accident culture. Ensures and monitors work, accident prevention and environmental protection regulations of the facility to assure a safe and productive work environment free of any liabilities or defects.
  • Develop and manage within the manufacturing engineering budget.
  • Drives DFM and DFSS in new Equipment Design to meet product development needs, production efficiency targets, machine PM cycles, and program life cycle OEE targets.
  • Understands automation concepts and techniques, including use and integration of robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and controls to design and build equipment from the ground up.
  • Understand machine shop capabilities with a basic knowledge of how to utilize CNC, laith, mill, punch, EDM, and other machining equipment to meet equipment design and assembly needs.
  • Designs and develops new manufacturing processes (including equipment specifications to support RFQ process) in line with latest technology advancements within global manufacturing standards.
  • Maintain a culture of functional and operational excellence, supports 6S, lean initiatives, and to be a committed role model for our company s Beliefs and Behaviors.
  • Develops DFMEA, process flow, and Equipment Manual/Operation instructions.
  • Understands plant layout to support lean process flow and optimization of total facility footage.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal capabilities and strengthen the organization (Succession Planning) through training, career development opportunities, and recruiting as necessary to achieve manufacturing objectives.
  • Adherence to internal and external business processes and certifications synonymous with a large U.S. Incorporation operating within the automotive industry and all other local legal requirements.
  • Knowledge of the automotive market a plus. Your success will be because you are/have...
    • Ability to manage a budget, adhere to the set budget, and keep in line with a continuous improvement environment
    • Ability to manage processes to reduce waste and defects and improve our current manufacturing processes
    • Working knowledge of operational metrics and improvement tools (VSM, PDCA, 8 wastes, line balancing, etc.)
    • Adequate experience in the use of common IT-solutions (MS Office, HFM, etc.)
    • Hands-on mentality and excellent communication skills both written and oral
    • Social and intercultural competence as well as good interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Commitment to 100% safety, quality and continuous improvement
