SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES

The Virtualization Engineer provides operational support and technical expertise for the virtualization platform which includes the VMware suite of products, server hardware, storage, and networking.

The job duties include daily management of the virtualization environment; responsibility for the virtual machine lifecycle management; ensure virtualization software suite is kept updated and secure; assist with virtualization related problem resolution; actively engage in virtualization capacity planning; troubleshoot issues with virtualization guest operating systems specifically Linux and Windows; and function as a point of contact for work requests related to the virtualization environment.

Additionally, this position will collaborate with hardware/software vendors and stakeholders to develop technical solutions.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

* Bachelor s degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher education

* At least six years of experience in an IT position

* At least five years of experience with VMware Virtualization suite of products

* Experience with Red Hat Linux system administration

* Experience with Microsoft Windows Server systems administration

* Experience managing customer service intake and issue management process
