Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:The CAD Technician creates and develops 3-D CAD models of parts, assemblies and drawings from existing digital 3-D CAD models, verbal descriptions, sketches and drawings. Develops CAD documentation compatible with tooling and manufacturing fabrication procedures.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provides CAD support to New Product Development Engineers in the development and manufacture of marine products.
• Performs CAD documentation for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic & other marine systems and parts
• Performs design engineering for manufacturability to achieve and improve best efficiency and quality.
• Develops and manages engineering bills of material.
• Verifies and applies Federal, ABYC, NMMA and International standards compliance for marine manufacture.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
  • Basic Engineering Aptitude.
  • 3-D CAD Modeling Experience.
  • Good Analytical and Quantitative Reasoning
  • Familiarity with CATIA CAD software is a plusTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

      • Regular computer work, and sitting
      • Occasional walking, standing, and lifting up to 50lbsINDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
        • Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments.
