investors.As a Network Detection Engineer, you are a valued member
of the Threat & Vulnerability Management Team. You are passionate,

those on the team that are newer than you and help them to advance
their technical understanding. You think more broadly about cyber

and collaborate with purpose. You provide feedback and insight to
your leader on opportunities to strengthen the program and actively
contribute to leverage best practices to improve the overall cyber
maturity and posture across the enterprise.
Responsibility Summary:
Keep up to date with current trends,
tactics, and vulnerabilities to understand the Threat Landscape as
it applies to Edward Jones.Use frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK
and D3fend, as well as the Cyber Kill Chain, to map current
detection coverage and identify opportunities for developing new
threat detection use cases.Partner with Networking Teams to deeply
understand the ever-changing network design and specificities of
the Edward Jones network.Deploy and maintain security solutions for
collecting and monitoring network security data sets; including
packet capture, flow data, DHCP, DNS, etc. Research network based
TTPs and develop high fidelity detections in various
tools/languages including Network Security Monitoring platforms and
Security Incident & Event Management (SIEM).Work with the Threat
Intel, Detection & Hunt teams to deploy and tune relevant
signatures for monitoring and alerting purposes. Document internal
team Procedures and Job Aids for completing core functions across
the team.Work with members of the Incident Response Team to develop
processes for ongoing tuning of signatures and rules as well as
documentation for response and investigation. Must be able to solve
technical challenges in critical situations that require immediate
resolution. Ensure compliance to published Information Security
policies and standards. Provide security services that align with
business objectives and regulatory requirements. Develop
relationships with external security organizations to maintain
awareness of security issues and trends.
Bachelor's degree in Computer
Science, Engineering, or Information Systems or related field
preferred; or equivalent related work experience Minimum of 10
years Information Security or Networking experience, with at least
5 years in an Incident Response, Threat Detection, or EDJ Network
Engineering role.Subject matter expertise in core networking
concept such as network design, routing, switching, TCP/IP
protocols, packet structure, etc Experience with packet-level
analysis (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump, tshark) and knowledge of TCP/IP
protocols (OSI layers 3-7) for investigating network
trafficAdvanced knowledge and understanding of security issues,
risks, concepts and terminology Experience using scripting
languages (Python, Powershell, Bash, etc.) to parse
machine-generated data, interact with REST APIs and automate
repetitive tasksExcellent written and verbal communication skills
to describe security event details and technical analysis Strong
interpersonal and organizational skills are needed to prioritize
tasks and serve as a leader for enterprise security initiatives

and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other
