We continue to grow to meet the needs of long-term individual investors.The Client Needs Research Team within Advice & Guidance (A&G) is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Analyst, Tax to conduct rigorous and thorough quantitative and qualitative analysis focused on tax management strategies. The role will include creating and representing the firm's advice & guidance to a variety of stakeholders within the firm and externally to help our clients reach their financial goals.

The Client Needs Research team is responsible for developing and communicating the firm's advice and guidance regarding financial planning strategies as part of the firm's Wealth Management Advice and Solutions (WMAS) division. The WMAS division drives innovation to ensure our branch teams and clients have access to high-quality products, services, and experiences that meet our current and future client needs. Both the Client Needs Research team and larger WMAS division play a pivotal role in supporting the firm's goals of deeply serving clients, and associates serve as the firm's subject matter experts for their respective areas.

Responsibility Summary:

Act as subject matter expert on taxes and tax management strategies, particularly in the context of client goals and financial planning.Conduct fundamental research and analysis to develop education and guidance on taxes and tax management strategies to support firm and department priorities. Demonstrate thought leadership on taxes and tax management strategies by proactively identifying risk and opportunities based on items such as changes in client demographics, legislation, economic environment, etc.Communicate tax-related education and guidance in written materials and verbally to both internal and external audiences.Able to speak broadly on retirement and financial planning concepts and the firm's financial planning advice and guidance.Share knowledge with other analysts. Engage in and/or lead department-wide initiatives.Provide service to branches by responding to service requests, phone calls, and other inquiries.This is not a client-facing position, and it is not expected to consult on client-specific situations.
Finance, Accounting, or Economics Bachelor's degree and/or MBA preferredCFP designation or actively pursuing consistent with department policy. CPA designation strongly preferred.Series 7/66 within six months of hire, consistent with department policy7+ years' experience as an analyst making recommendations in a related field or extensive industry experience.
Functional Knowledge
Expert knowledge of the tax code.Proficient knowledge of financial planning concepts and strategies. Knowledge of economic, statistical and investment concepts preferred. Demonstrated success as an analyst in areas of high complexity.Capable of determining the appropriateness of strategies by making use of sources such as government reports, trade journals, technical periodicals, and firm data.Experience preparing research reports for financial planning or investment topics.Experience developing and communicating decision-making frameworks.Strong understanding (or expectation of developing a strong understanding) of the Edward Jones investment philosophy and business model.

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:
