A successful Senior accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze general ledger transactions, financial reports, and forecasts. -ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist with Financial and Tax Audits and collaborate with external auditorsParticipate in financial standards setting and in forecast processAssist with quarterly forecasting, annual budget, and annual cost roll processesPrepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting departmentConduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenanceAnalyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO's attentionManage general ledger and assist month-end and year-end close processesMaintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuationPerform Standard and Gross margin analyses Partner with Operations to analyze manufacturing variancesComply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles -(GAAP) for financial statementsPerforms special projects as assigned -MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance6+ years' experience in accounting with increasing responsibilities, preferably in a manufacturing environmentExtensive knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain relationships with co-workers, supervisors and upper management.Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Excellent written and verbal communication skills - -PREFERRED SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:MBA or CPA/CMA licenseExtensive knowledge and advanced use of ERP systemsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tablesAble to analyze financial records and interpret for other departments
